Welcome to my blog! The reason why I’m writing about this topic is to educate people about AIDS and how it affects our society. We live in the city of Atlanta, where gay men still represent the largest group of people living with AIDS at 51%. This disease greatly impacts the LGBT community on more than one level.
Additionally, people who are living with AIDS must survive judgment on a daily basis. When you don’t understand a certain disease, you’re more likely stigmatize that person. Our society must realize that those who have AIDS deserve as much respect as those who don’t. My mission is to not just put a spotlight on this terrible disease, but to inform others about the stigmatization towards those within the AIDS community.
